Details
Deity: The central focus is a statue of Lord Shiva, seated in a meditative posture (padmasana), often depicted with blue skin, a crescent moon, and the third eye. Structure: The temple unit is a two-part cabinet: The upper section serves as the main worship area (garbhagriha), with two white, intricately carved doors that are currently open. The lower section is a darker wooden storage cabinet with doors, used for storing prayer accessories (puja samagri). Inscriptions/Symbols: Above the deity, there is decorative lettering and symbols in Hindi: “शुभ लाभ” (Shubh Labh) is inscribed on the top, meaning “Auspicious Gain/Profit,” a phrase often associated with prosperity and good fortune, frequently seen during festivals like Diwali. The sacred syllable “ॐ” (Om) and the mantra “नमः शिवाय” (Om Namah Shivaya), which is a primary mantra in devotion to Lord Shiva, are prominently displayed behind the idol. Surroundings: The temple is placed against a light-colored wall, with a white sheer curtain and a window on the right. There’s a traditional brass diya (oil lamp) on a small stool on the left, and a small potted plant on a wooden stool on the right, adding to the serene, clean atmosphere.
